A JUNGLE STORY

A JUNGLE STORY

A Poem by David Dodsworth
"

A dedication to the jungle book

"

The monkey sat and smiled, at the little human child

And watched the child play, on this hot summers day

He saw him crawl he saw him walk, he even heard the child talk

It's amazing what you can see, from high up in the canopy

The child grew as days went by, but he never saw the child cry

A pack of wolves the childs clan, a panther friend his greatest fan

But then a bear who plays the fool, the child thought that he was cool

The boy was taken by the king, the gift of fire he must bring

A monkey king with orange hair gave the boy an awfull scare

Rescued by a costumed bear and a panther made a very odd pair

As elephant soldiers marched in line, a bugle played they looked so fine

A tale told of his good luck

The story of the jungle book
