A Contradiction on Time

A Contradiction on Time

A Poem by Davia Lynn Bradley

A Contradiction on Time
Time never ends.
It goes on day after day,
as many suns go down,
past the rise of many moons.

Time is our friend.
It's with us night after night,
as many moons rise,
past the fall of many suns.
Time is our enemy.
As it steal away our youth,
leading us to our eventual deaths,
simply from living too long.

Time is above us.
We are not in control.
It can speed by,
or remain ever slow.
Time is below us.
We bow down to no one.
We control the clocks,
and we play God.

Time is our equal.
It is neutral in our wars.
It cares naught of death,
nor of life.

Time is not real,
for there are some wounds,
which time cannot heal,
and some that disappear.
Time is lost.
Some can find it,
and some cannot,
though it's always present.

Time is Hers,
for she is the keeper of the keys,
wearer of the hourglass,
named Destiny,
for all time.

Wow, what an excellent piece. I can't begin to think that this was just a random thought or two. Excellently and oh, so cleverly thought out.

You really have a couple of powerful statements in this piece, which made me think! Loved your flow, almost like the hourglass it all concludes so perfectly, whilst I read your very last lines!

I really loved

Time is not real,
for there are some wounds,
which time cannot heal,
and some that disappear.

But your ending, oh wow, I can't seem to get enough of it.

Time is Hers,
for she is the keeper of the keys,
wearer of the hourglass,
named Destiny,
for all time.

Bravo, I really must applaud you on a magnificent piece. This is definitely a keeper!
