One Last Kiss

One Last Kiss

A Poem by Shley De

I see you through glossy eyes

You said you loved me: it was a lie

Promises were broke that day

I still linger on those agonizing words

But tonight you are everything

You’re everything to me

No more…

As I wake from this perfect dream

Us two together beneath the stars

I cannot live in this lie

I lose myself in suffering tonight

I feel so numb inside

This bitter end…

Help me get over you

I cannot think of my flood of tears

Now we must let go to save our past

Help me get over you

Broken pieces will not mend

Pain overwhelms me, as I must stay strong

I refuse to be slave to your false

Beauty again…

It has come to this distressed adieu

So long beautiful illusions

Just give me one last kiss

A beautiful last goodbye

One last false apology

This is the end…
