Aquarium Haikus

Aquarium Haikus

A Poem by DaughterNature

Tentacles streaming

catch tiny food lazily --

sea jellies floating

Oral arms sway like

lace in tepid currents full

with salt, krill, plankton

Rattle shakes, flippers

trip across walkway platform --

blind sea lion Cruz

Ginsu, green sawfish,

sleeps among the coral rocks,

dreaming sawfish dreams

Napoleon wrasse,

humphead, alas, may have blue

blood, but no lineage

Bright afternoon glare

on water dancing, dolphins

cavorting beneath

I work at an aquarium, and today I was feeling especially inspired by the animals!
