Ch.4: New Transformation

Ch.4: New Transformation

A Chapter by Datherine100

Katherine's POV

As I wait for Will to wake up, I sit on his bedside, waiting for him to wake up, hoping he'll be okay. Hopefully, he won't be too mad at me for going against his wishes. He's just stubborn sometimes. Like I tend to be. And Klaus. And as I sit on his bedside, waiting for him to wake up, I drink from a bottle of Bourbon.

William's POV

William is asleep, as he feels his pulse get weak, and starts breathing slowly. He lets his head fall to the left into the pillow as his heartbeat gets slower and slower. He takes his last breath and his heart stops. He never told her his secret. That he has a heart condition. He lays there lifeless.

Katherine's POV

As I wait for him to wake up, I realize that though I thought he'd be fine if I healed him, he was worst off than I thought originally. Realizing this, I know that when he wakes up, he's going to have to make the one choice that I would never wish on anyone that doesn't want this. He's going to have to choose whether to be a vampire or not. I assume that he wouldn't mind being a vampire, but you can never know until the time comes what a person would choose. Vampires may want to be vampires in the beginning, but after a while, some vampires tend to miss being human. Others don't get the choice. They have to turn unwillingly. I know if I had a choice, though I like being a vampire, I'd be human again if I could. I never really got to have a good human experience, because my life back in my human years sucked. But then again, I know as a human that I wouldn't be able to defend myself against an enemy like I can now. And I wouldn't have anything. Apart from my true friends, I would have nothing as a human. I'd be worthless as one. It's nice to fantasize about being human again, but I wouldn't truly be able to live as one. Not as long as my enemies are alive and want me dead.

William's POV

William wakes up and gasps for air. He then sits up, looking around, his mind racing. His mouth hurts in his gums. He then looks around and sees Kat.

"What's going on? Where am I? Why do my gums hurt? Did I die?" He's panicking so bad he can't think about it. He holds his chest.

Katherine's POV

"Don't worry. You're safe. You're at my place. And I'm sorry, but yes. You did die. I know you didn't want me to heal you, but you were dying, so I did anyway. I just didn't know you'd die if I healed you. I apologize for what has happened, but now you have a choice to make. One I wouldn't wish on anyone. You're not alive, but you're also not dead, yet. You're in transition. You have until tomorrow evening to make your decision on whether or not to feed and be a vampire or not," I answer him. I wish I didn't have to tell him all of this, and that he could stay human, but I have to do so. And whether I want it or not, he has to choose and make his own choice.

William's POV

William looks at her and is confused and scared by everything she has just told him. He holds his knees and rocks back and forth and says, "I need to go."

He starts to get up off the bed.

Katherine's POV

"That's not a good idea, Will. Not when you're in transition. Really soon now your emotions are going to be all over the place and you might end up hurting or killing someone. You want that on your conscience? You're not thinking clearly. And Klaus that got you injured in the first place? He's still somewhere out there, since he obviously isn't planning on leaving town anytime soon. He could take advantage of what you're going through right now like he tends to do with everyone whom is more vulnerable than he is. He likes to toy with people way more than me. Unlike me, he doesn't have any morals. He's been a hybrid too long. He doesn't remember what it's like to be human, so he likes to use them. And right now, while you're in transition, the safest place is here. Besides, what happens when you don't come back before the sun rises? You don't have a Daylight ring. You'll burn if you're in the sun without a Daylight ring," I inform him and explain, afraid for his safety if he leaves. I can't protect him from anyone older than me or more powerful than me if he leaves. If Klaus really wanted to, he could take my Daylight bracelet and compel me anything he wants. I'd rather die than let Klaus compel me. I may like using compulsion when it's necessary, but I don't misuse any of my abilities unlike Klaus. I don't like to use compulsion unless I really need to. I know what it's like not having your own free will. Elijah compelled me once and I didn't like it, but Elijah only did it so I wouldn't leave the tomb I was in. However, Klaus would toy with me if he got the chance to use his compulsion on me. And unlike Stefan, I don't know if I'd be able to fight the compulsion or not.

William's POV

William sits back down, knowing she's right. He looks at his hands and sighs, as he sits there for a while, looking at his hands.

Katherine's POV

I sit down next to him with the bottle of Bourbon.

"Don't worry. Everything will be okay. If you decide you want to be a vampire, I can teach you everything I know. Being a vampire in this town comes with precautions so we don't alert the council," I assure and tell him. "You have twenty-four hours to decide what you want to do," I add. Then I ask, "Want a drink?" I'm pretty sure anyone in transition or having any kind of bad day would want a drink. Drinking usually calms vampires unless you're Damon who's been drinking, as well as having been emotionally hurt. He lashes out, whether he's been drinking or not, when he's emotionally hurt. I lash out too, but I'm more discreet than he is. Mainly, because I'm half the age of all the Originals, so I've been around a lot longer than most vampires.

William's POV

William looks at her and says, "Yes, please." He leans into her and says, "I'll do it. I'll become a vampire. I have something to tell you." He leans his head onto her shoulder.

Katherine's POV

I'm inwardly happy that he's willing to turn, but I want to make sure it's something he really, truly wants. After all, once you become a vampire or hybrid, there's no turning back. I don't want him to hate being a vampire and miss being human somewhere along the line. We all learn to love being vampires eventually, but some of us would jump at a chance to be human again. Like Damon and I. Damon misses being human I know, and I would be human as well if I had a chance to, as long as I had someone I love beside me. After all, human or not, being alone is lonely.

        I look at him.

"Are you sure? Once you become a vampire, there's no turning back, and I don't want you to eventually blame me for being who or what you are. You have to really and truly want this. Are you willing to throw away your life to be something else?" I question. Then, when he tells me that there's something he needs to tell me, I curiously ask, "What do you need to tell me?"

William's POV

William is nervous and says, "I'm sure. I want to become one. I want a change. My job sucks and my life sucks. I want a different one, so yeah, I'm sure." He bites his lip and sighs. "I'm not sure if you feel the same way, but I love you."

He turns his head away, unable to look at her if he gets rejected. He then sighs, as he rubs his knuckles.

Katherine's POV

"I'd be lying if I said I loved you the same way, but maybe after a while, we'll get there. Try not to see it as a rejection, because whether I love you the same way or not, I still love to fool around. Besides, maybe give it a little while and we'll eventually get there," I reply. "Right now, before the sun comes up, let's go get something to eat. We can choose something at the Grille or I'm sure there's a sorority party going on," I reply. I'm too much like Damon, because I have the same taste that he does. Especially, when it comes to feeding from people.

William's POV

William nods and gets up with her, getting his shoes on. He has always felt that way about her ever since they met at the Grille.

He looks around and waits for her.

Katherine's POV

I watch him get ready to go. Then I follow him, since I'm already ready. Besides, I'm usually ready for anything. And if something unexpectedly happens, I'm usually good at figuring out a plan to get out of the situation. If there is a way. Once in a while, you get into situations that you can never get out of. Especially, not on your own.

As I walk with him through Mystic Falls, I ask him, "So, where would you like to go? The Grille or a party?" As a vampire in transition, you always get to choose where you're going to feed first, as well as who you're going to feed from. Humans may get to make choices, but vampires get a lot more choices than humans do and ever will. Vampires have more control than humans do in this world. It doesn't matter what century we're in.

William's POV

William walks with her and says, "Party." He looks at himself and sees that he doesn't look like he's going to a party. He sighs and walks with her.

Katherine's POV

When he tells me he wants to go to a party to feed, I smile at that. It seems that there's more than just a few species that are similar or just like me.

"There should be a club party tonight," I tell him. Some nights, students from all over will come party at a club or two, whether they're on break or not. After all, some humans are troublemakers, which is exactly the kind of people I enjoy. It can be rare to find someone just like or similar to you when you're a vampire for far too long, so when given the opportunity, you should jump at it. Especially, if you're lonely deep down like Klaus and I are.

After about an hour, we get to the club that's having a party and I easily compel the door guy to let us in. Then I go in with Will and it's party time.

"Anyone you like?" I question him, since now it's time to feed to our every desire. And since Will is the one in transition, it's his choice who to feed from. He has less than twenty-four hours to feed, so I'm letting him choose which human to feed from.

William's POV

William looks around at the party-goers, deciding on who to choose, and sees a brown-haired woman.

"What about her?" he asks, keeping his gaze on her.

Katherine's POV

When he picks out a stranger, I say, "Let's go get her. She's perfect."

William's POV

William nods and goes with her to the stranger. He then stands behind her and watches Katherine go in front of her. He then follows her lead.

Katherine's POV

After I follow William to the stranger, I tell him, "Concentrate on just her and compel her anything you want her to do. Then you feed to your desire." As I tell him this, I can sense how uneasy she is about what we're planning on doing with her, and I put a hand on her arm so she can't flee.
