The Mountain and the MoonA Poem by Basit Majeed
I tear up the shackles all of a sudden...
The low lying life and promises all broken... You aim up for stars and land on the moon... These dreams that we dare, are all at noon..!! I see the high rise Mountain being kissed by the Moon... The canvas of fear and its delightful gear... The implicit shadows and secrets all rare... I see both dark and light sides misunderstanding which ones to rear..! Its frivelent light specks and unpleasant glances of being toon... I see the high rise Mountain being kissed by the Moon... The world is a wonderful place for everything to share... But everything today has lost its flair... Damn!! Not my moon which always stays... Up above the Mountain with its hopeful bright shades... Against all odds and stars so far... I see the high rise Mountain being kissed by the Moon.. What is this relation and love unending... The big bright Moon and the Mountain just standing... Is this a call for glow or devouring flow... The far it gets, the speed turns slow...!! The heart even lifeless and the light on loan... I see the high rise Mountain being kissed by the Moon... Extraneous bright with its heavenly light but dark in the core.. All its body with bruises so sore...! Yet it has love and kindness to show... Like a mother lets her young one never to go... The spectacular view if you ever come by... Just praise her great love and sing a lullaby.. For it is like a breeze which ends real soon... I see the high rise Mountain being kissed by the Moon...
