Thoughts of Us

I keep hanging on the to the thought of us 

even though all I have are memories 

of a love so perfect so rare like a beautiful painting 

I keep thinking you will return and it be as it was 

yet you are no where to be found 

so  I ask myself what did I do wrong 

for you to leave me high and dry 

I thought we had something special 

you said you were different and I believed you 

so here I sit with you next to me 

remembering what our life was together 

now it will never be the same again

you proved to be my worst nightmare 

and all I did was love and care for you 

so I guess you could say this is my final goodbye 

to you or the world either or is fine 

so if I survive the night I will see you tomorrow 

with your presence lacking my life is gone 

oh wait I will never see you again
