A Family Broken

You left and took my kid with 

not knowing what I did or why 

every time I see you

it cuts me like a knife

pain and suffering all I feel 

I want nothing more than 

to make my family whole 

growing up in a broken home 

I swore my kid would never 

do the same as I 

a broken family is all I have 

now alone I suffer crying and 

wondering what went wrong 

where am I to look when I am down

a broken family is not what I want 

I want my family to be whole 

but that will never happen

thanks to her alone I suffer 

I guess its what I deserve 

a broken man with a broken dream 

a family never to be reunited 

a broken home is all I know 

and my kid will know the same 

for we now and forever to be 

a broken family

Thank you for the review of my poem. I think that your poem did a very good job at describing a father's pain for not being able to keep his family together, and it being the one thing he wanted due to him growing up in a home where it was broken. It really caught my attention of how early in the poem, the father's kid was taken, and he never knew why. I think the after effects of the kid being taken away, when it mentioned that the father was a broken man was wonderful too.
