A Friendly Reminder

A reminder to live life to the fullest

death comes swiftly to all of us 

it is easy to die all you do is 

close your eyes and stop breathing 

life is hard and full of wonder 

it is difficult for the ones that 

you have left behind

life is for the alive so just keep

living if your breathing 

live till the reaper finds you 

you know when he is near 

the cold darkness is a sign 

out of no where he comes 

with a robe black as night 

a cloud of smoke surrounds him 

his weapon of choice a scythe 

a long stick with a blade so 

cold and icy with a bloodied tip 

he swings and your soul is gone 

for him to consume or let go 

so I have to ask you this 

as I ask myself as well 

do you feel alive and full of life 

or dead with no soul patiently 

waiting for the reaper to 

take you to your final resting place
