Working at Copies Plus, I Never Had a Cut As Deep As YoursA Poem by Eric Darsie11 minute 11 line poem I was "challenged" to write in my Adv. Poetry class. Yep.Working at Copies Plus, I Never Had a Cut As Deep As Yours
The paper cut on my finger reminded me of you On the first cut happened to be the deepest While I forgave for what did happen I’m having troubles letting go of it from memory For never getting a paper cut at work before I consider myself blessed But for what happened with us Only made me open up my eyes To the flaws inside Letting my heart out for you to have Only to be stomped on by you. © 2011 Eric Darsie |
