Division to McDonalds

Division to McDonalds

A little poem about a trip to McDonalds

Division to McDonalds

Crusin’ in my close friend’s pick-up truck

Going to our cheaper vintage restaurant

I got a Big Mac meal and you got a McDouble, fries, and a yogurt

I got a pile of ketchup and you got two little cups of it.

While heading east, we talked about it,

You and Jenny are expecting around September

Both of you were nervous at first.

I’ll be up for babysitting

I’ll have to learn to change diapers

But you two have to learn before me.

Conan O’Brien and Mr. T.

Yelling at apples and treating your Mother right

            Laughs and giggles we share

Memory lane we traveled down Division

As well as the Gospel as our core.

You whipped out your iPad and I checked Twitter on my Droid

We’re high tech, sure, but nerds all the way through.

First Friday night in years

Last time was three years past

Let’s make this last

            Appreciation of one another

God’s been workin’ through us for each other

            We’ll never lose our contact

Ryan and I cruised down Division to McDonalds.

Trip took five minutes, as most,

But the memories will be shared together

                        Forever.
