The Snake Within

The Snake Within

A Poem by Eric Darsie

The Snake Within

By Eric Darsie

When it rolls off my tongue

Whenever I speak what’s on my mind

I call what I see.

Tend to keep it in,

The anger that rages within

Why do opinions change,

When I let out my thoughts?

People tend to back off

Whenever I show how I feel inside.

This snake is ready to bite,

I’m looking for my next victim.
