A Wanderer Wandering In Life

By Eric Darsie

Every once in a time or two

A funk comes upon me.

Drags me through the mud,

Feelings equate to cow manure.

Never felt fully accepted by those who care

Never felt appreciated by those I love

Just a wanderer wandering in life

Only thought the side roads of Meanstreet, USA.

Wondering why I give my heart away

Out t to be smashed by inconsiderate jerks.

Often leads to those nights on Lonely Ave.

Wanting to mean something to someone.

The weight of the world seems to fine me

Hanging upon my shoulders

Brings me down and tries to hold me there

Why can’t that weight simply vanish?

Knowing others feel this way too,

I’m not the only one going through this alone.

We all fall hard one time or another,

We all need one another.

We’re fragile and shatter into pieces,

Can you help me pick up my broken pieces?

Needing a community of love around us,

Supporting when we’re down for the count.

I don’t want this to be my final count-out.
