That Saturday Night

That Saturday Night

A Poem by Eric Darsie
"

One Saturday night, we met, hit it off, hugged, and will hang again...this coming Saturday night!

"

That Saturday Night

Checking you out from across the room,

My mind runs laps around the beauty found.

An internal battle rages within

While I debate if I should try.

I know you realize I’m over here

And I found you over there;

Everyone knows of the marvelous beauty you withhold,

How it shines for all to bask in.

You went over to the drinks

So I decided to walk over to finally meet.

Once we lock our eyes,

Our chemistry perfected with that simply glance.

You grabbed my hand and led me away,

A separate room for we can officially meet.

I never realized your beauty until now,

But I’m lost in trance in looking into your eyes.

We exchange stories, names, numbers, the like, and closed it with a long embrace.

Never felt this before

But that hug felt like an ocean of love.

Can I get lost in that ocean, please?

We’ll talk once again, I guarantee it,

Because we both hit it off fast.

This coming Saturday night,

We’re kickin’ it again, hangin’ and bangin’.
