Everything Through Him and For Him

A poem about Colossians 1:15-20

Everything Though Him and For Him

 

Everything was made for Him

All that is seen and not

Those thoughts that you had

And the ones unthought of

Complicated philosophies that are written,

Poems being penned,

Art designed and drawn onto a canvas,

All that was made to point to Jesus.

He holds eternity in His hands

And every single thing in between.

Breath, grass, colors, language "

He controls all and knows it deeply.

Everything holds together

Because He wants it to be,

To bring Him honor and glory

And for all to be saved.

We’re created in His image

We carry around His likeness.

Died upon that cross "

Upon His back He took our punishment.

We’re the ones who have fallen short

Jesus Christ picked up and made us whole.

It all started in the garden

And man didn’t take a stand.

He came down as our Savior.

Took the Father’s anger on His shoulders.

Even that brought Him glory

‘Cause it pointed us to Him.

A personal relationship is what He desires

My best friend is Who He is.
