Do Over

Do Over

A Poem by Darryl Davis

Perhaps it’s time we sat

you and I

put that needless thing sweating your palm

down and bind yourself to a single spot

just a moment

think what the odds were that

we would comprise this somewhere

simply by defining everywhere else

by default

think how secluded the future would be

if only we could slide back down the beanstalk

and start again.
