Perfect

Perfect

A Poem by Darryl Davis

This , our canopied chachette,

a flawless starburst gem

cradling the perfect moment

we’ll never forget, least the

umbrella we didn’t bring, posed

upon the yellowing map that slipped

our minds, weighed down by the lazy,

limp-lidded tabby that rolled in its

siesta somewhere else.

The ending of this made me laugh becaue I used to have a tabby cat.
But it's beautifully written and worded in such a way that makes the words come alive.
