Comet's Landing

Comet's Landing

A Poem by Hayden Bridges
"

When shooting stars come too close.

"
Streaking fire across the sky
Celestial bodied firefly
Siren's scream; deafening, fierce
Atlas' domain; it's target pierced
Choked black stench of blazing space
Approaches at a frightening pace
Thundering crash; god's percussion
Planet's skull left with concussion
Embedded deep in smoking crater
Finally rests this charred invader
