Waisted Blood

Waisted Blood

A Poem by Alicia Richey
"

When you're tired of holding back anger.

"
In manners of speaking
     one who does not commit to wrath
     exceeds to go down a powerful path.
But in other ways
     one who holds in their saying
     lives life in a miserable pain.
Attitudes get thrown at you like you're at the fifty yar line.
The exorcised truth slaps you like dry rain on a desert.
And you feel the negativity in the air.
So, why bother?
Why waist your blood,
      biting your tongue on something that
      you could've been done with.
Bit down so hard that you tasted
     your own DNA circulating like saliva;
             building up on your tongue.
The truth is in means to release
      and probably strain the peace,
      but in all ways,
     I will prevent you from losing
      blood from biting down on what
      you're holding in to keep peace
  from breaking into pieces
      by ways of stress;
   something you can't digest
because it runs in a thin red line
that continuously blinds.
In the beginning, no start at the end
    the thoughts won't stop and your
    mouth will be filled with blood,
    again.
