My Forever Friend

A friendship that has lasted and stood the test of childhood and adult life.

I've loved you forever, or so it seems.  

There are no times I can think about you and feel pain,

Except for the time you travelled to further your studies

And yet, not even distance was victorious over the bond we shared.

I love you for who you are and because of who you are.

You are my forever friend.  My go-to person when life strikes,

When the pain of loss and failure creeps in and comes a calling.

You are my biggest critic and my most loyal fan.

You are now and have always been in my corner no matter what.

I will never have tongue enough to thank you.

Having you so deeply embedded in my life has been one of my greatest joys.

For you are my forever friend.

I was just in bed and started thinking about a friend from my childhood, who is still my friend to this day and this came to me.

This is really good!! I am 17 years old and i feel like i have a forever friend... well i hope she is a forever friend : we are more then friend currently but i think that might change when we go off to college... anyways thank you so much for writing this...
