Fallen Pillars

Fallen Pillars

A Poem by Dark Poet
"

Look how everything has reversed. They’re the fallen ones now.

"

Pillars fall around me

My source of strength is weakened

They are the roots of a tree

Now bruised and beaten

I used to be the frail one

Always in need of their hand

Now, sadness I shun

I know how to get off my knees and stand

Look how everything has reversed

They’re the fallen ones now

Temporarily at their worst

I've given them my strongest vow

They said it’s me who kept them alive

The one who kept them from ending it all

My love is what helps them survive

 I won’t let anyone fall

Author's Note

Dark Poet
I have three friends, whom i'm extremely close to, who have come to me in the past week telling me they want to either kill them self or die. I know four people who have done or do self harm. When has that become normal?

This was beautiful.

Truly beautiful.

I can just picture you beating sadness, and pain. Standing. Then, fighting the pain of other's. I think it's remarkable.

I had a bit of sadness while reading this. You just reminded me too much of an old "friend" of mine.
He used to say things like this. Always saying that it's his job to help people. That people need him.

But no more on that.

I loved this.

I wish I had a friend like you. -Jessie

aww thanks
This is a beautiful piece and I couldn't agree more. So many people are waiting to take their lives because life is so cruel. I hope your friends get better! I'll be praying for them!

Nicly written very sad and yes I wish it wasn't the known to harm your self but I have no room to judge so I struggle with the exact thing

It is a very strong poem. Inspirational piece. I am hoping that the personal element which has inspired you to pen this down only grows stronger with the passing days .
Your poem has layered steps showing the rise of courage step by step. Simple and lucid words..not putting lipstick on pigs...just to the point... I loved this poem.

Nice lines: "Look how everything has reversed
They’re the fallen ones now" ..

Such lines`re very good to read. It reminds me `bout past or `bout the moments of time how fast they`re walked out the bridge of life & we`re failed to get back that time again or to make undone things "done" again. You put some deep insights in your poems. Appreciate it. Nice imagery.

I used to write very depressing thing due to my past mindset. I have now overcome that and will write a new kind of theme. It will still resemble some darkness because that is what I am best at, but t.. more..
