Mirror MirrorA Poem by Wraith
What do I see when I look at me?
What do you see when you see me? A noble king, a lord to be? A lowly thief, king want to be. I stole a heart, and made it my queen. I pretended I loved it, the same way I loved me. It pretended it loved me, the same way it loved it. I saw a wise man cry, I saw a young boy die. All the while I watched, stared into the mirror. All the while I watched, nothing got clearer. I think to myself, what could be dearer? Than a throne of gold. A heart, loved deep and untold. I watched my dream fade, my castle waste away. This love wasn't real, this devils deal. I had no queen, I had no kingdom. No gold, no heart, no thing but sharp cold. I looked in the mirror and saw much clearer. This castle full of myth, was but a distant dream. How can a mind so dark create something so clean? So I cover thee, mirror. For upon my handsome face, and features filled with grace. I hide from my eyes, I hide from disgrace. Mirror, Mirror what do you see? What do you see when you look back at me? For I am you, and do as you do. Reader, Reader do you see clearer? Do you know what this is? Do you know what this means? This poems a Mirror, made to help you see clearer. It's not me, it's you. It's not you it's me. These truths, these lies, are a golden key. They ring true inside, from this lie you can't hide. You are what you fear, and all you hold dear, Will suffer if you don't learn to control it. You castle will fall, and heaven will crawl, Down to earth and weep beside it. Then all the kings horses, and all the kings men will never put it back together, Ever again. © 2015 Wraith |
