The Lord's SupperA Poem by Cristal BridgesA poem I wrote for church two Sunday's ago when we observed The Lord's SupperHe sat there with His twelve, Knowing what awaited. For us He was crucified, For us He was hated.
His body was broken, Just as unleavened bread. And it is through His body, That our souls are fed.
His blood was shed for us, As he hung upon that Tree. Never once did He hate them, His blood was shed to set us free.
He ascended into Heaven, And sits at God's right hand. Watching His disciples daily, As we walk this weary land.
We were once all captives, Who were freed by His Grace. So as you partake in The Lord's Supper today, Remember the Great Man who died and took your place. © 2011 Cristal Bridges |
