I'm Just

I'm Just

A Poem by Cristal Bridges
"

I just wrote this on a whim. I'm not even sure how I feel about it. Something seems a bit off but maybe that's just me.

"

I’m just a young girl from the South,

With freckles on my face,

And big teeth in my mouth.

I’m just a girl of fancy youth.

With eyes of hazel hue.

And me, I burn for sooth,

I’m just a girl of masked disguise,

With heart of emerald jewel,

And nose turned up to sky.

I’m just a girl of dreamer’s light,

With soul all afire.

Will I be a building block,

Or a funeral pyre?

Like I said I'm not sure how I feel about this. Something seems off to me but I hope that it's not too terrible.
