Just too far away

A poem about love, not something I write too often; but someone I love needs to hear this.

 Miles away you lay awake

thinking of the one you love

But I am just as far away

Too far to sing you to sleep

I wait to awake in your arms but find

No one waits beside me

No tears will come, we're both so tired of trying

and no one can fill this void you've earned

- no one can heal my heart -

So we fall asleep alone and try to ignore

the pain that could tear us apart

Hoping again we will wake up together

Hoping to see you beside me
