Nightmares

Nightmares

A Poem by DarkMockingbird
"

A darker poem compared to my other one, but it still seems good to me.

"

Calling upon them each at night

from a heaven in the trees

Not human, not beast, not divintiy

Hunters who cannot be seen

They come so quiet, it seems,

that they make no sound as they walk the sky

No foot prints remain, but the blood they spill

leaves little black spots on the earth

Harolding the coming of sleep

Like nightmares

the only path they travel

Kept up with lights to guide them home

the mortal world unravels

Unknown they remain but seen so often

just shy of the wandering spirits

they hide in the souls of men

and leave a trail of red behind them
