Old Man WinterA Poem by DarkmageOld Man Winter
Riding the cold north wind bringing freezing gusts and swirling snow. He changes the landscape from greens and browns and fall colors. in to his white playground.
He gleefully layers the trees and ground with powdery snow Freezing ponds and lakes covering them with snow flakes transforming everything according to his desire.
While we bundle up to go about our daily tasks, he sometimes calls upon the winds, to try and stop us in our tracks. Other times he likes to play tricks, letting the sun shine through. So we can come out and play. Building snowmen and sculptures out of his snow. Then once again will call up his friend the north wind to chase us all indoors.
He can be our friend bringing just what we need, high up in the mountains. He places lots of snow that when his time is over, The spring and summer will slowly turn in to life giving running water . Many people would rather he stayed away, but I believe that without him. We would not be able to appreciate all the things that come to us. So I say Welcome Old Man Winter. © 2023 DarkmageReviews
