From the Darkness Into the Light

From The Darkness in to the light

For the longest time I lived in what seemed to be

the darkest place in the world,

Always shaded and in the gloom, not knowing where to

turn afraid of what the darkness held. Trapped in

what seemed to be an eternal night..

Then one day a small point of light came into sight..

At first it was dim but then began to grow,

I stumbled forward towards this light,

unsure of where it would lead, but the light my soul

it seemed to feed.

Stumbling one step after another, slowly moving towards

this growing light. How I hoped never to loose it from my sight,

day by day it began to grow stronger and brighter.

Helping my thoughts and feelings become lighter.

Before I realized it the night had turned to day,

and at last I had finally found my way.

And now I live in the light of day, no longer fearing

the night. For I know the dawn will come and with

it will once again come the light

"For I know the dawn will come and with it will once again come the light," is such a powerful line to me. This year has been a strange, dark one. I myself have been trying to find that light again. This is a powerful poem, contained very well. A "light" reminder that things are always bound to get better. Sorry for the pun, and thank you for sharing this poem with us. :)
