Close your Eyes

Close your Eyes

A Poem by Sharna

Close your eyes,

To a world within,

Where looks don’t matter,

Neither fat nor thin.

Picture your looks,

Create the perfect face,

Imagine your own fantasy,

Where here is not a race.

The snow will weaken,

Your every touch.

It’s all a dream,

You’re more than enough.

Come to the place,

Where all is safe

Your doors are locked,

There is no chafe.

There you’ll be woken,

To a place you’re calm,

To mend your troubles,

And do no harm.

It’s your secret haven

You have the key,

Enter it

And you’ll be free.

Leave the things

That get you down.

Absorb the magic

It’s all around.

It’s a magic world,

Another home,

Where all are friends

You’re never alone

What an ideal world it would be if fat or thin, race, colour, creed or religion mattered not and differences were simply appreciated, rather than scorned. We are all brother and sister under the skin and gifted with a quite beautiful planet that we seem to simply take for granted.

Sadly, the lesson seems such a long time in the learning.

Beccy.
