time escaping

Time seems just to past you by as the day goes on

life lived is never forgotten in memories

friends, family and photgraphs scattered across ones mind

I never stopped living until the day came that you said good bye

days became weeks and as time slipped in my mind

it seemed just yesterday your promise was said

"I will come back for you, never forget."

Your promise was broken for the war continued and you were lost forever.

For the time escaped and you never got to live your life to the fullest.

Heartbreaking true for many people during war times. Even morse so when it concerns self and family.

Your words here have put these thoughts and emotions into context.

Our soldiers do their duty, their families wait and hope while time seems to stand still. Unfortunately, not all enjoy the happiness of a safe homecoming.
