Depression Deprivation'sA Poem by Allie BurrisThis Poem basically is saying that you shouldn't always be depressed and try and see the good in anything you do or in everyone/ everything. What do we see in everyday life? Depression? Deprivation? Sadness? These emotions, feelings, are in everyone's hearts and souls. We see it where ever we go. A store, a party, a book club meeting, anywhere we go. It's even in you. That feeling weighs down our heart making it heavy to breathe. You feel so lost, so depressed. You sit there all alone, no one to hold you, caress your hands or your face to tell you "It will be alright." Your heart has turned to dust...the feelings of love and happiness. Gone in the wind, flowing through your fingers, your hair, your heart... Your soul is crushed, your heart is stone. What else can you do with all these tears around you? You see others cry, cut themselves, even do suicide. Take a stand, take a chance, make a change in yourself. Go and help others and you will feel better about yourself. Don't let the bad things and negative sides of anything take you over. That bright side will always be there for you and will always welcome you there. Take the good side in things before the bad sides cloud your vision and decisions in everyday situations. You will always have someone or something there to show you, to help you, to be there for you. Take chances, make changes in anyone's life, even yours. When you look back to the past when your time is near you'll rest in peace remembering all the good you've done in your life and others.
