Autumn of 1888

Autumn of 1888

A Poem by Eric R
"

malevolence drifts with the rolling fog...

"

Cunning, quiet, unnoticed
social alienation feeds a craving to express
a deep instinctive hunger that never dies
from Hell comes shocking impulses
blasphemous arousals
twisting, forming, shaping
with eyes that see in darkness
malevolence drifts with the rolling fog
gravitating over the cobblestone streets
an unknown terror races through London
like blood moving through shuddering veins
a vile loathing summons his compulsion
perverse hatred, obscene mutilation, lurking
behind you

Well that was ghostly write, but a very enjoyable read nonetheless. You obviously have a natural talent for word use, that much is clear. I do wonder though, why there appears to be no periods? Maybe to capture the fog-like "drifty feel" that accompanies this poem? I am sure there is a reason, I am curious though. Also, to me, I believe "the streets" can be removed from the fifth line up, as it is already written in the line above. Just a suggestion, take it or leave it. Great writing though...I truly enjoyed it.

Dark and eerie, a Jack the Ripper moment? I like this genre and you have written it so well. I love the line "Malevolence drifts with the rolling fog", certainly sent shivers down my spine. :)
