The World Today

my view of the world currently

what is wrong with the world today

killing, murder, lying, cheating

its time for us to stand up and say

enough is enough, stop with the beating

 

the youth learning from the elders

to be like them

to be along with the dwellers

living with all this hate and sin

 

what are all these new religions

where the people only pray

with all these terms and conditions

where people with money tell them to stay

 

when will we ever learn

that we are no different from another

we all want to be stern

and stand together, sister to brother

 

why can there never be peace

between any two lives

will we do that when we ceace

to stab each other in the back with knives

 

why cant we get along

we are all the same at birth

under one sun and moon we belong

in this beautiful place called earth

 

can all we do is hurt and destroy

only having death and blood curdling war

using other people as a decoy

and destroying a persons core

 

all i want to do is know why

why do we put ourselves through pain and tears

why cant we put everything aside and get by

wasting our life through the years

 

forcing ourselves to forget the love in our hearts

instead following our minds

and when the war finally starts

putting us purposly through the crimes

 

soldiers with the dying and the dead

bodies slowly eaten with decay

rolling around with the hearts bled

pale and soft like the skin of clay

 

I see this world with bloodshot eyes

what are we doing, how do we stop

we are pushing ourselves to our own demise

we'll be surprised when death comes with a knock

 

the thought chills my skin

the thought kills me inside

but i know when he comes in

i will have to abide

 

its heartbreaking that this generation

will be the downfall to the young ones

and leads us to our incineration

until the next sunrise dawns
