The Darkened BasementA Poem by Dark RoseHidden I was from the light of day. I was not to be seen. I was hidden below the house. For the horror I was. The burns that covered my body. I was deformed and scary. All because I had been attacked in the night. Burned supposed to be dead. The man still living above me. Scared of my immanent demise death lurking right above me. It hangs above my head. Never leaving me. He lurks in the upstairs hall. With a once loving mother. While I cry the nights away. They throw parties above my head. Not once am I spoken of just a past theme. Hidden in the darkness of the cellar. Forever to be broken. No one knows of my friends of the dark. My fallen angel. HE sits in the dark with me. Fallen because of his love for me. His wings burnt from saving me. I am proud to have my darkened angel. The hidden face is there. He waits for there mistake. I hope they trip up. I wish to be free. I smell smoke from up above. That is when I know the truth. The angel made his decision. He has chosen me. Heaven he will never again see. All because of me. I start to feel the heat. I hear the screams of there demise. © 2014 Dark RoseReviews
