Crumbling Down

Crumbling Down

A Poem by Dark Rose

The darkness is scary. I see the blackness coming. The stairs have long ago crumbled away. It laughs in the darkness. Trying to claim me. The demon reaches out. It tries to grab my hand. The others breaking in. The castle I built to save me. The wall will be my downfall. I try not to show my fear. They smell it. I stand in the last ray of light. The call I promised to never use. The call to my angel. He probably wont come. I sold my sole. Just to keep my angel alive. I didn't want him to fall. It is a sad fact. Death is at my door. I call to him one last time. No answer is to come. I calm my heart. It sinks a little more. There is only one fact. Death has come to claim me. In I will have my piece. No more fear. The time has come. I jump from the chair. Into the dark abyss. To await the demon. It isn't long. I feel the talons digging in. The pain is real. Yet I wont let out a cry. The darkness will not win. I will go down fighting. It is just me. The darkness laughs. It was to get worse. Yet no fear is there. They will not my fear. To my surprise I hear my laughter. The demons back away. There is no more time. I spread my wings. To my one true love I fly.
