A Poem by Nia-Cheyenne
"

i wrote this at lunch

"

Month after months
Days after day
Minutes after minutes
Seconds after seconds
This thought is swimming
Thru her mind
She wonders why
Minutes go by
As she sits with a blank stare
“Why...”
“Why me? ...”
Then it walks by
Her entire attention goes slowly to him
The dark memories fade in
All the good and bad things
All the smiles and tears
Have disburse to this
Her grin slowly fades
As he walks towards her
Ands says “___meet ___ my fiancée…”
Slowly a tear runs down her cheek
Her feelings have returned
The darkness within starts to come out
Her eyes turn black
Her skin goes pale
Her soul floats away
She whispers” I have to go...”
She starts to cry
She leaves her stuff and runs outside
He gives ___ as if he didn’t know what he’s done
Outside she falls to ground heart broken
It starts pouring rain
And she screams her heart out
Screaming “How could you do this to me… I loved you…”
He walks outside
He reaches to her and tells her to turn around and stand up
As she does he kisses her
He says” I thought you didn’t want me anymore, I thought you hated me, I thought you didn’t care.”
She cries out” since the day we met I loved you that could never change no matter what.”
After months
Day’s minutes
And seconds
She’s finally found happiness through the darkness

The perspective on the piece is interesting, as it relates to the crying woman and the man - as they find happiness; but what of the fiancee? She is left, to feel pain, much in the sense the crying woman did. What are we to think of this man, that would so easily abandon the one he had asked to marry him. Had he but settled for her? Was she his second choice? The pain she suffers now, because of his actions... begs the question...

Hmm...Adrian has a point. I once wrote a story from the perspective of the forgotten one, the 'fiancee' as he put it. One of them will always be hurt...

Amazing.
