Writer's block.

Writer's block.

A Poem by Dr. S. D. Blankenship DDiv., PhD., MA.
"

This is for anyone who has writer's block, and feels they are alone.

"

Wrong, wrong, wrong every word made to

Resemble my thoughts and dreams, but even

I can see it needs to be better! I see the

Theme and the plot. I hear the words and

Emphasize the scene again. Rewriting my

Run-though, over and over again. Every

Slur is wrong. I grab my pen and scream

Bogus! My nerves are stoned, my eyes are

Leery. My mind is lost in train of thought

Obstacle. I see it all so plain in my mind

Consecutive. Every thing I see I hope to

Keen my wit, so I can just write my block.

XD wow! This is so spot on! I get the same feeling when I want to draw something- then remember that I don't know how to draw. u.u But it's worse with writing, because we know we CAN write... our hands just aren't cooperating. And then, when you're mentally reorganizing your thoughts you get lost in the confusion and it's all chaos from there.
I can so see this happening, like in a movie.
Great job!

Oh my goodness I totally identify with this feeling, it sucks when you can imagine, like in pictures almost, what you want on the page but you just can't translate it into words. I really like the way this poem is written, very easy to read (like it flows) Good job! :D

'Every thing I see I hope to Keen my wit' - I'm thinking hammer and anvil here...
neat - even the opening strikes ring out and then Bogus! - back in the fire...
interesting write this... a wordsmith craft worth honing though? Sparks flying, sweating...

This piece shows your personality, and I enjoyed it. This reminded me of how many times I've written about writers block only to believe they weren't actual pieces of writing. Makes me want to post one in particular from 2004. :) I find even when we try to write from our heart, our minds tend to get critical, and it's so hard to turn off. You expressed that really well here.

This is exactly the way I feel and why I keep myself from writing. Good job expressing these thoughts.
