Steps of Love

Steps of Love

A Chapter by Dr. S. D. Blankenship DDiv., PhD., MA.

For each and every step, which I moved closer to You, I took one step downward.

Ascending towards You, as You erotically stepped down.

The warmth from Your flaming heart, burns intimate with devotion.

I stepped headlong those painful, series of steps, to try and clutch Your heart.

Though ruefully it didn't feat, the heat has burned us away in time and point.

Descending them steps I relocated little and weak,

As the excitement from my fondness did drizzle.

The flames grew inside my heart, little, by little.

But, You were spiritless, harloting your body..

The agony from Your affection was to much to publish.

For you loved him, though felt left out of despair.

I advised You were my truthful affection,

But, it smite’s me by means of creation.

These steps of love I must commence to move on,

Onto this, now this love I deem has took me headlong the steps of love.

These steps lead me into love, but sent me to Hell.

Hi. It's been a while since I have been to your page. I like the way you have been presenting your work.
I believe you always took my corrections as they are intended -- as help.
Thus -- I would suggest fit as opposed to feat (although not necessarily necessary)
and TOO much to publish, and smites without an apostrophe.

So sad, no bittersweet ending here, for sure. This is a sad poem though each time we love, we learn.

I like the flow and the emotions you put into your words here. Nice job!

very touching...you make the reader share your feelings, and that's a very good quality for a poet and writer to have , good job!

Powerful and so full of hurt. Nice job. I'm not that technically skilled to critique the mechanics. However as a reader I like this very much. The imagery is strong and the flow works for the piece.
