Aveline

Aveline

A Poem by Dark Twain

           Aveline

you took a beating

now you spend your life giving it meaning

I reach for the truth

while the patterns keep on repeating

battered and bruised

I know the beauty in you

I saw the phoenix fire

and Oh how it flew

Aveline Aveline

the venom is seething

you've seen it all, now you're leaving

if you don't return, what is the meaning?

Tell me, Aveline.

"I know the beauty in you
I saw the phoenix fire
and Oh how it flew'

{lines so sweetly sublime}

{the last verse seems so full
of a hopeless/questioning mood}

great poetry!!!

wildy abstract razor sharp beauty of a poetic~ the first two lines speak volumes about how deep the childhood barbs go and continue to dig deeper throughout a life span~
