Away Letter

I know this means nothing to you
You know I’ve tried to be something to you
But it will always be him and you
Maybe I’m happy for you
Maybe I’m not
Give me back my feelings
And stay out of my thoughts
Maybe everything is just making it worse
Or maybe I’m just overthinking it all
But I am not the last one at night that you call
Or maybe I’m just not feeling it at all

I’m different
Heart speaks I listen
You keep me too distant
But when I want to go
You want to pull me back
I do believe the fault is mine
I should have had you like any dog would and not said a thing
Maybe we'd be fine

What if the poetry was missing
And my feelings weren’t so strong
If you’re being truthful
You'll say you wanted that all along
What if you being on my mind wasn’t a given
What if you let me fade out so you can enjoy the life that you’re living
So you'd rather have pain then focus on us being good
You should’ve left me to the water
Rather than let your sympathy save me
I’d rather you tell me you hate me
Then for me to watch you pretending you could love me
Pretending yu could ever let me in
This time just let me swim.
