I & You

I & You

A Poem by Dark Tower

I & You

I must have been an angel in my previous life

Because that's the only way I could deserve a girl like you

Perfection falls short of you

Your smile so beautiful

The stars only come out at night to get a view

God only made angels

So he could practice before making you

When I first met you

My mind was blown

Here's this gorgeous creation of heaven

Reciting poetry to me

I was thrown

Didn't know how to approach you

Just knew I had to make you my own

If it were not for your lips

I would never have known the desire to be kissed

If it were not for your presence

I would have never known how it feels to have someone so special they can be missed

I miss nothing more than you

I miss you more than I miss air when I'm drowning or blood when I'm bleeding

The saddest part of my day is when I'm watching you leaving

But maybe I'd feel better if you were wearing this

This thing right here

Is a symbol of everything

Our love, our fights, our kisses, our hugs

This thing right here is a wedding ring

I don't think I've ever been as sure about anything

Dear God

I really hope you're listening

Please make me what makes this woman happy

I like the positive words and hope in the poetry. We need a sweet woman to make feel alive. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you Coyote. The woman it was written for is no longer with us, but she was breath taking.

You kept her alive in words. That is the duty of a writer.
