Bitter Memory

Bitter Memory

A Poem by Dark Tower

Bitter Memory

Your eyes open

You feel so cold and out of place

You'd swear you're just a tiny rock

Floating in the eternal darkness of outer space

So hollow is your soul

And so lacking is your taste

For anything other

Than to just remember what it was to be embraced

The feeling of love so forgotten

It's all just a distant memory

Of a time when you could smile

You remember her face

Untidy hair Smeared make up

The face of perfection

Say her name to yourself softly

Because it hurts too much to say it properly

She'd always tell you how messed you were

But somehow she just couldn't stop loving you

The controlled chaos of your lives

Ripping a path of it's own

Never giving a damn what people think

Because as long as you had her

You weren't alone

You try to move on

But your heart wont budge

Never before has their been a woman like her

A rare and delicate flower

In a desert of twisted and evil things

Never get the image of her out of your mind

A goddess among mortals

She was one of a kind
