Memory

A Poem by Dark Tower

Memory

I wish you were here
I wish I'd hugged you that extra time
Kissed you that extra time
I wish I'd seen you that one more time
I wish I'd put my arms around you that one more time
I wish I'd told you I love you that one more time

I wish I could see you smile one more time
I wish I could hear you laugh just once more
I wish I could just be in your presence once more
Memories of you attack my mind in hordes
I crack and crumble as I realise just how much I miss you
Tears pour down my face but I don't reach for tissue
Because each tear is a memory
Of all the things you used to do
That made me smile
And my life that much brighter
And my load that much lighter
When you chased away the monsters that hid under my bed
When you comforted me when I was most scared
Wiped the tears from my eyes
And when the sun was gone
You were the warmth that gave me life.
I will always love you
Amen

I enjoyed the repetition in this poem. . . this is quite sad - hope all is better
