Fading Away

Fading Away

A Poem by Dark Tower

Fading Away

My heart started shrinking
Something in life has to give
Kindness turned out to be the smallest place that I had ever lived
One of the reasons I would do away with you
Is just for the peace
If you know me like you say
Then how could you be so blind to my logic
Pretending to love each other is tiring
So lets quit games and just stop

I was never really same as the others
Maybe that helped create the space
F**k your good intentions
I'm only interested in the evil that's actually taking place
You sycophantic suck-up
You hippocratic old fool
How can such a sharp object
End up as a blunt tool?
It takes a lot of self control for me to look at you
And to resist the urge to throttle you
And rid the world of one more fool

You probably tell yourself
That in some warped way what you're doing is right
And I want argue
Because you're not worth the fight
No love lost
But in all honesty, between us,
Was ever really much there?
You gave me bruises
Gave me lumps
And if not for my pen
I'd still be drowning in those dumps
The worst fear I have this world
Is one day I ever grow to be just like you
Don't know what I'd do
I'd rather die
Than resemble even the faintest shadow of you

The pen and paper had saved me many times. I enjoyed the poem. I wanted to know more. You touched on many subjects. Always a pleasure to read your powerful words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
