Constructing The Monument

He used to be that little kid
Who always believed
He had a higher calling
Life filled with so may problems
His dream was to one day
Be able to try and solve them

But there something else
Hidden away deep
In his consciousness
This nagging feeling
That just kept slowly
Eating away at his confidence

As he grew older
His heart froze colder
As he developed a giant chip on his shoulder
Enough hate in his eyes
Strangling the concept the love
And watching its lights dime and dies

He can't count the times
He was so scared
He'd run and hide
But found no protection in the world
So he retreated inside
The childs tears poured freely and formed floods
Growing older
And realising reality bites
And life sucks blood

In a rainstorm
Thunder attacks the sky
Arms extended, to him death doesnt matter
Nothing but pain reflected in his eyes
Demanding God come down to him and finally shatter
This illusion of divine purpose and hope
Because life is worthless and before you know it
You'll be stuck at the end of your rope

In his head
There's a voice that whispers constant
Luring him over to the darkness
To stop fighting for ideals that don't exist
If they cared so much
With all their knowledge
How did they not see your pain
Maybe if they had bothered
To look a little harder
No matter how bad you want to be
You will never be one of them
You're the spare wheel to already perfect machine
Just like all the cars, tvs, phones, dogs
You're just another bad purchase
Amusing, but all together worthless
I mean think about it
The only reason you there
Is because somebody looked into your baby brown eyes
And didn't want you with them
From the moment you were born, they crossed fingers and hoped you would die
But they were torn
And needed a quick fix
So they handed you over wrapped in a blanket
Because they didn't care enough to find clothes that would fit
Why would you want to live with that?
You know theres nothing anyone could say
That could ever change the truth of it all
So surrender your soul to me
And stop fighting
together we can numb this pain
With the extent of my power
Nothing could ever touch you again
Surrender
And enter
