A Poem by Dark Tower

Ascending

Sometimes I feel
Like I
Could never be
What I was destined to be
But what is destiny?
Is it that feeling you get
When you lie in the arms
Of the one you love?
Or is it a divine plan kept secret
By angels hidden above?

Limited time
Is
All that we have
Because there's nothing on earth
That could change that
But we forget
And we become obsessed
With things that encourage
Us to waste that time
Sometimes we must stumble
In order to move on
Sometimes we must be soft
In order to be strong
Sometimes what was right gets over shadowed
By a greater wrong

You feel shy alone
You're cold
On your own
And you're wondering if this is your destiny
Or did you miss out on what could've been
Or is there more to this emptiness than it seems
Your only comfort is in your dreams
And you wish you didn't have to wake
But you do
And you hate
Every moment you
Every waking breathe
And spend all your time praying there aren't many left

You keep more to yourself
Because you don't trust people
To understand
What goes on inside
It's tearing you up
Your heart bleeds
But you're scared
Because when you needed them the most
Those who should've, didn't care
They didn't see
How empty you were
They didn't see
How much you wanted it to end

Until the day comes
When you decide you've had enough
You lock yourself away
In a room
Your suicide letter
Transforms into a poem
Sending cryptic messages
Of what's really going on
Your tears were slow and gentle
But now they fall strong
The pain of the razor kissing your wrist
Is nothing compared
To the pain you've felt
Going on day to day
You prepare for the final blinks
Of your eyes
Lay yourself down
You no longer have the strength to stand
You make sure they'll see your words
And hope that in your absence
They'll understand

A sad poem.
"The pain of the razor kissing your wrist
Is nothing compared
To the pain you've felt
Going on day to day"
Sometime we lead ourselves to bad places of no return. But we must. Hard times make us stronger and better. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. Always a pleasure to read your words.
