Mommy

Mommy

A Poem by Dark Tower

Mommy

We are who we are
But everything I am
I owe to you mom
You raised me to be
This man I smile at in the mirror
And feel proud is a reflection of me

I know throughout our lives
We've had some problems
But no matter how bad things got
You'd always smile and we knew you would solve them

Mom
It was you who picked me up when I fell down
And told me everything would be okay
And then gently put your around
Me, and when I wanted to give up you would always say
"No son of mine is giving up, no, not today."

In primary
I took a lot of abuse for being adopted
But it would never phase me
Those kids would be lucky
To be adopted by the woman who raised me
Tucked me in
Read me stories and saved me
When the monsters attacked my dreams

So no matter how far I may seem
I love you mommy
