Where Bad Guys Come From

He woke up this morning

Left you a message

So his “I love you” would be the first thing you see when you woke up

Right next to your bed he places a steaming cup

Switches off your alarm

And sings you awake

Helps you get ready

Makes sure that theres nothing you forget to take

You have another long and busy day

He sends you messages of upliftment

Every step of the way

When you get finally get off work

He's waiting for you

With a ear ready to hear

Everything that happened

The good

The bad

The happiness and the sadness

You're carrying a heavy bag

He doesnt hesitate to grab it

You're exhausted

He makes you dinner

Anything you need just so he can be that glimmer

Of good in your busy day

He's making you happy

In each and every way

Kisses away your tears

Protects you from all of your fears

Carries all of your stresses

And addresses

All of your problems

Blows off his friends

Every weekend

Family meetings he wont attend

Not seen at relative funerals

The things he's given up for you

Are numerous beyond numerals

Sacrifices he doesnt hesitate to make

Anything he can do to keep that smile on your face

…...and you..

Just don't give a spit

About any of it

Someone else comes along

And suddenly he's irelevant

You attack him with a sword of guilt

When he questions the lies that you've built

You're not tired because of you days exercise

You tired from that secret guy who you keep letting between you thighs

Fix up your hair

Go back to him kiss him on the lips

Looking him in the eyes

Feed him a couple more lies

Without even blinking

Yoi've had so much practice

The stories roll out of your mouth without thinking

Of the consequences of your actions

His heart loved you

But its quickly adapting

Evolving and reacting

To all this rubbish you keep putting him through

He doesnt trust you

You know it

You had found real love

But for some reason you decided to blow it

His heart is torn

I doesnt want to be without you

But every time you open your mouth

He cant help doubt your truths

His heart is shattered

The fragments have scattered

His resentment his climbng him like a ladder

Until he serves you with a platter

You try to talk

But he tells you to cut your chatter

Because if you lie right now

He's only going to get madder

Just remember

behind every lude, rude, crude man

Is a woman who took his love for granted

And ran his heart so deep into the ground

His love is forever planted

Another powerful write, B.C. This kind of hurt cut real deep, aye? Although I don't agree with the generalization of the last verse, I can understand that if a person got hurt like this over and over again, he could put up defenses.
Well written.

My God,that rings very true.People forget that past relationships shape a personality, for good or bad. That's was fantastic.
