Love & Lost

Love & Lost

A Poem by Dark Tower

Loved & Lost

They say its better to have loved and lost

Than to have never loved at all

I disagree

Does that mean it's better to have died

Than to have never gone to war?

Is it better to have been abused

Than to have never been slammed against a wall?

Is it better to have your back broken

Than to never have to crawl?

I say

Its better to have never played this sick twisted game

Where win or lose

The only outcome is pain

As your emotions swarm around you

And the frustration drives you insane

No pain no gain?

I think the innocence of my heart

Would've gained a lot

From never experiencing that pain

Love conquers all?

Don't believe it

Love doesn't conquer s**t

Love is the true root of all evil

Love is the rationality

Behind the sickest peoples lack of morality

And when you lose it you feel like a calamity

Just hit you

But you didn't feel the poison

When the Demon Cupid bit you

I'd never pray for peace on earth

I'd pray that Cupid finds his way six feet in the dirt.

Very expressive mate. That pain is what makes the love sweeter!

Finally, someone actually f*****g said it. Ugh, I hate that saying (the first few lines). Love sucks. It hurts. All it does is leaves us broken, and then every expects us to be able to stand back up and get over it. I just don't see why people believe this. I love this poem. Great write!
