Amnesia

Amnesia

A Poem by Dark Tower

Amnesia

I wake

Cold sweat

Its bright

But I cant find the source of the light

I'm alone

I feel so cold

Something is missing

I rush to my feet

But my legs are weak

And I fall to my feet

It takes a second for me to catch my breath

I hear rumbling outside

I'm scared

Scared of what might happen next

I look out the window

It looks warm

Late November

Early December

Whats my name?

I cant remember

Hastily put on clothes

So scared I accidently tear one of my sleeves

Chest hurts

I realise I forgot to breathe

The door opens

I hear foot steps

One then two

I look up and see you

Instantly I feel

This warmth and completion

I stand up and put my arms around

I dont know how

But I just know its the right thing to do

I may have forgotten my whole life

But I never forgot how much I loved you

I love this one so much! It just makes me go all 'aww'. How characteristic it is, for a lover to never forget his beloved even if he does his own name. Beautiful.

Shelving it.
